About Monterey Vacation RV Park

Campground in California.

Monterey Vacation RV Park offers the perfect home base for exploring one of California's most iconic coastal destinations. Located in the heart of the Monterey Peninsula, this RV park places you within easy reach of some of the Pacific Coast's most spectacular scenery and attractions.

The Monterey area is renowned for its natural beauty and rich cultural heritage. The famous Monterey Bay, with its thriving marine ecosystem, is a major draw for visitors from around the world. The nearby Monterey Bay Aquarium stands as one of the most prestigious marine facilities in the country, showcasing an incredible array of ocean life from sea otters to jellyfish. Whether you're an aquarium enthusiast or simply curious about marine biology, this attraction offers hours of engaging exploration for visitors of all ages.

Beyond the aquarium, the region offers a remarkable variety of experiences. Cannery Row, the historic waterfront district, combines Gold Rush era architecture with modern restaurants, galleries, and shops. You can stroll along the scenic walking paths, enjoy fresh seafood with ocean views, or simply soak in the vibrant atmosphere of this revitalized neighborhood. For nature lovers, the area provides excellent opportunities for hiking, tidepooling, and bird watching along the rugged coastline.

The charming town of Carmel-by-the-Sea is just a short drive away, offering upscale galleries, boutiques, and dining experiences set amid picturesque cypress groves and pristine beaches. Big Sur, one of California's most dramatic coastal stretches, is also accessible for day trips, featuring stunning vistas and hiking trails that showcase the raw power and beauty of the Pacific Coast.

Monterey itself has a fascinating history rooted in Spanish colonial times and the California Gold Rush, with numerous historic sites and museums reflecting this heritage. The area's Mediterranean-like climate provides pleasant weather year-round, making it suitable for RV camping during most seasons.

This location appeals to travelers seeking coastal adventures, cultural experiences, and natural beauty. Retirees, families, and outdoor enthusiasts will find plenty to occupy their time while enjoying the comfort of their RV home base.

It’s a parking lot with hookups. Bathrooms are clean. Have to be able to tolerate airplane noise. Pads are not level. Bring all your leveling skills. The location is central to everything in the area.

This place is fine enough. Great location (but you will definitely hear planes overhead). It’s secure and the cheapest option we found in the area. There is a gate with a code for after hours access. You do need to check in before 5pm which is sometimes hard for us to make happen but we made it. Spots are very tight and short. With everyone’s slides out you’re almost touching your neighbors. And for most of the spots you’ll have to park your tow vehicle in a separate spot. All in all it’s a decent place. Nothing special but we would stay there again for the convenience and price. Still overpriced for what you get but like I said, best we could find in the area. I called to ask a question before booking and the woman I spoke with was quite rude and told me “I am very busy, look on the website”. Despite this we still booked because there were so few options with availability that weren’t $150+ a night.

Great Value for the Price! The RV park was perfect for the price! It offers WiFi, full hookups, clean restrooms, and is securely gated. Host Chrissy was very friendly, helpful, polite, and professional. We’ll definitely be back. Just a heads-up: this is not a resort—it’s a simple, convenient place to park and plug in your trailer while you enjoy your time around town.

This is NOT an RV Park. This is a fairground parking lot with hookups. And it is important to note that, unlike most RV Park campgrounds, they do NOT allow after hours check-in without a seriously lengthy process (multiple forms filled out online and a copy of your drivers license). Passing through from Santa Cruz to Monterey, my family & I decided to stay here due to price and accommodations for 3 motorhomes, for 1 night stay, as we were looking forward to checking out early to go to the Monterey Bay Aquarium in the AM. They don’t allow you to choose from their available spaces, but rather, randomly assigned spots. And while they were overly nice over the phone, showing up was a complete 180! They parked all 3 of us over a dozen spaces apart, with my sister and her husband at the furthest spot in the entire campground, despite there being an obviously overwhelming availability. And when my brother-in-law asked to park closer to us, they told him “that or leave.” In addition to this, there seemed to be an overwhelming amount of “live-in” guests, many of which had kids that, very sadly, looked to just be all alone & just wanting someone to talk to, but also tried making there way into our RVs with our own kids without an invitation . Many of these “live-in” guests were also so rude, questioning our every move & making rude remarks. We were literally there for less than 15 hours. THE WORST PART THOUGH… at 5:30am the next morning, somebody tried checking our RV door!!!!! With two kids with us, this was extremely scary. We DO NOT recommend this place. Pay for the higher place campsites and stay there!

While I have been coming here for 10 plus years, when I pulled in yesterday, the driveway was blocked by some girls working a kitchen, after tooting my horn a couple of times an employee jumped off his tractor and ran over while sitting in the drivers seat of my RV and began yelling at me for tooting my horn, there was a parking spot 10 feet in front of the vehicle. I was instructed to respect his property and to learn patience even he is only an employee, the yelling continued, I finally closed my window and drove off only to have this employee run into the office while my wife was registering and verbally attacked her to the point where she felt threatened. Attempts to address my concerns to the CEO have gone unanswered
