About Porto Bodega Marina

Campground in California.

Porto Bodega Marina offers a unique coastal camping experience in Bodega Bay, California, where the rugged beauty of the Pacific Coast meets small-town charm. Situated along the picturesque Bodega Head peninsula, this RV park places you within steps of the working fishing village atmosphere that has defined this area for generations. The location provides an authentic slice of California's North Coast, where weathered fishing boats bob in the harbor and fresh seafood is part of the daily culture.

The Bodega Bay area is renowned for its dramatic coastal scenery, featuring rocky shores, sandy beaches, and stunning ocean vistas that shift dramatically with the seasons and time of day. Visitors can explore the nearby beaches, including Bodega Head itself, which offers hiking trails with spectacular views of the Pacific Ocean and the Sonoma County coastline. The area is particularly popular with outdoor enthusiasts who enjoy activities like hiking, beachcombing, and wildlife observation. Birdwatchers flock to this region year-round, as the bay and surrounding areas attract numerous species including eagles, herons, and migratory seabirds.

Bodega Bay's fishing heritage makes it a prime destination for those interested in fresh seafood dining. Local restaurants and fish markets offer catches of the day, from Dungeness crab to rockfish, providing authentic coastal culinary experiences. The town maintains its working waterfront character while welcoming visitors who want to experience genuine California coastal culture without the crowds of more commercialized beach destinations.

The region appeals to a wide range of travelers. Nature lovers and hikers will appreciate the proximity to coastal trails and natural areas. Photography enthusiasts find endless subjects in the dramatic seascapes and maritime activities. Families enjoy the relatively calm bay waters and tide pools. Those seeking a peaceful retreat from urban areas will find the quieter pace and natural beauty restorative. The location also serves as an excellent base for exploring the wider Sonoma County coast, with numerous state parks and natural areas within reasonable driving distance.

Weather along the coast tends to be cool and often foggy, particularly in summer months, so bringing layers and windproof clothing is recommended. The area offers a genuine escape where the rhythms of the fishing village, the calls of seabirds, and the sound of waves create an immersive coastal camping experience that captures the essence of California's working waterfront heritage.

We only have two minor complaints. When we called to reserve, we weren’t asked if we wanted/needed an electrical or water hookup. Thankfully, we had recently filled our water tank and were fully charged as we were placed in a site with neither. The second worth noting is that when guests have fires going, you can’t have your windows open for fresh air. We would have liked to have vented our van in the evening but too much smoke and fire aroma came in. Unfortunately, it was fogged in in the morning, so we can’t speak to the view or area either. 😕

We just came back from a great weekend at Porto Bodega. Clean restrooms, friendly staff, easy back in to the RV sites with full water, power, sewer hookups. The clubhouse is spacious and can seat 50 people with tables and chairs provided by the park. Full fridge, stove, microwave and coffee pots available in the clubhouse. 2 resteraunts are on site-ish and both offered award winning dishes. O... Of note is that both resteraunts are closed after 6pm The Park is about a mile from town and only a couple of miles to the beaches nearby. The RV park is in a marina and fishing is permitted off of the docks. All in all, a great weekend trip and we will definitely be back.

We have stayed at Bodega Bay RV Resort a couple times now. We genuinely enjoy coming here and an abundance of delicious places to eat and enjoy chowder and fish and chips. A “must go” is Ginochio’s Kitchen adjacent to the RV Resort and Marina. Their Monkey bread and brisket are our newest favorites there. The views at the RV Resort are awe inspiring and relaxing. Their Monkey bread and brisket are our newest favorites there. The views at the RV Resort are awe inspiring and relaxing. The RV Resort is peaceful and quiet. The only suggestion I would have, or wish they would consider for the price you pay per night is; paved pads and grass at each site would help keep your RV clean from tracking in rock and dirt. However, the views and general upkeep of the facility makes up for that issue. Porto Bodega Bay RV Resort proudly supports First Responders!!! Special thank you to Kelly. We look forward to visiting here at least bi-annually.

RV Park is at the marina. Great location with nice wide rv spots. Full hook-up ups in most spots. Electric and water along the water with a dump station on the way out. Clean restrooms and showers. Easy access to the road going to Spud Bay. Very nice people here.
