About Ramona Oaks RV Park

Campground in California.

Ramona Oaks RV Park offers a welcoming home base for exploring one of Southern California's most charming and historically rich regions. Located in Ramona, California, this RV park puts you in the heart of wine country, surrounded by rolling hills, oak-studded landscapes, and a vibrant community that celebrates its cowboy heritage and agricultural roots.

Ramona is a destination that appeals to a wonderfully diverse range of travelers. Wine enthusiasts will find themselves in paradise, with over twenty wineries within the local area, many offering tastings and scenic vineyard views. The region's Mediterranean climate creates ideal conditions for viticulture, and visitors can spend days exploring different wineries at their own pace, sampling local varieties, and learning about the winemaking process from passionate vintners who call this area home.

Beyond the vineyards, Ramona's historic downtown district invites leisurely strolls and exploration. The town maintains a genuine Old West character with antique shops, local restaurants, and galleries that showcase regional art and craftsmanship. The Ramona Pioneer Museum provides insight into the area's fascinating past, while the weekly farmers markets bring together local producers and the community in a lively, authentic gathering.

Outdoor enthusiasts will appreciate the natural beauty surrounding the area. The landscape offers excellent opportunities for hiking, with trails that wind through oak woodlands and offer panoramic views of the valleys and distant mountains. Equestrian activities are popular in this ranching community, and the terrain is ideal for those who enjoy horseback riding. Bird watching is particularly rewarding in the region's diverse habitats.

The proximity to other Southern California attractions adds another dimension to a stay here. San Diego is less than an hour away, making day trips feasible for those wanting to experience the coast, cultural attractions, or urban amenities. Yet Ramona itself maintains a peaceful, small-town atmosphere that feels refreshingly removed from the hustle of larger cities.

Whether you're seeking a relaxing retreat focused on wine tasting and nature, a home base for exploring Southern California, or a destination that combines outdoor recreation with cultural experiences, Ramona Oaks RV Park positions you perfectly to experience everything this distinctive region has to offer.

First of all it took forever to get a reservation! Left messages and emails that never got answered. Would have found another place if my son wasn't staying there. There was never anyone on the office. A lot of year round residents. Some site were junky. Restrooms weren't great. Not a place O would hurry back to.

Cons: Other than the pool area ALL amenities are run down or falling apart. People in RV park are not friendly and I think it’s because the majority of the people live there. It definitely changes the vibe of the place. Fish pond, looks nice but did not see a single person fish (we did) but it was filled with algae. Hours aren’t conducive to fishing either: 10 am to 7 pm only. No picnic tables at the camp site. Many of the camping sites have no or limited shade. The best sites are taken by folks who live there full time. You get what is left over. I won’t be back and it’s a shame because this place has so much potential but it fallen to ruins. Very sad.

The office closes at 4 PM on Fridays and does not reopen again until Monday at 9 AM. I guess if you have a weekend emergency you’re out of luck. I would definitely not stay here again and if I could have turned around and easily got a refund, I would have.

I've loved staying at RORV! The staff and management have been super friendly and very helpful whenever I've needed something, or shared a concern. I would definitely recommend.
