About Twin Lakes Resorts

Campground in California.

Twin Lakes Resorts in Potrero, California offers a peaceful mountain retreat for RV travelers seeking an escape from the hustle and bustle of everyday life. Located in the scenic backcountry of San Diego County, this RV park provides a wonderful base for exploring one of Southern California's most beautiful and underrated regions.

Potrero sits in the rolling hills of East County, surrounded by wide open spaces, oak-studded landscapes, and the kind of natural beauty that makes Southern California special. The area is characterized by its quieter, more rural character compared to the coastal regions, making it ideal for travelers who want to experience authentic California countryside without the crowds. The elevation and distance from the coast mean cooler temperatures and refreshing mountain air, especially welcome during summer months.

The location provides excellent access to some truly remarkable attractions and experiences. Nearby, you'll find numerous opportunities for hiking and nature exploration through the backcountry trails that wind through the region's diverse terrain. For history enthusiasts, the area offers glimpses into California's ranching heritage and Old West character. Travelers interested in outdoor recreation will appreciate the proximity to various regional parks and natural areas that showcase the unique ecology of inland San Diego County.

This part of California is perfect for those seeking solitude, stargazing opportunities with minimal light pollution, and a genuine connection with nature. Whether you're a photography enthusiast looking to capture stunning landscapes, a nature lover wanting to explore wildflowers and local wildlife, or simply someone seeking a quiet place to park your RV and unwind, the Potrero area delivers an authentic California experience.

The region's rural character means you'll want to stock up on supplies before heading out, but that's part of the charm and adventure of staying in this peaceful corner of the state. Cafe 94 at Twin Lakes! What can I say, we have been enjoying Edith's breakfast for more than 12 years! You feel as if you are at home, good food, served with love! You always feel welcome and super special... Take a country drive into our beautiful mountains and stop by and enjoy the food!

Ugg ! What was once a popular resort has been destroyed by absentee owners and "residing international travelers" . Wrecked cars and free running dogs litter the place . Crime goes unchecked here (one friend has been burglarized 3 times) and the grounds and waterways are usually fouled with trash ... I'm sure the management tries , to some extent , to instill some semblance of order and cleanlin... Ugg !
