About Woodside RV Park & Campground

Campground in California.

Woodside RV Park & Campground offers a wonderful coastal camping experience in Fort Bragg, California, a charming seaside town known for its natural beauty and rich maritime heritage. Located at 17900 CA-1, this RV park provides convenient access to some of the most spectacular scenery along the California coast, making it an ideal base for exploring Mendocino County's rugged coastline and redwood forests.

Fort Bragg itself is a delightful destination with a working waterfront, historic logging heritage, and a vibrant local community. The town features excellent restaurants, local shops, and galleries that reflect the creative spirit of the North Coast. Whether you're a nature enthusiast, history buff, or simply seeking a peaceful retreat away from the hustle and bustle, Fort Bragg offers something special for every type of traveler.

The surrounding area is incredibly diverse in its attractions. Glass Beach, one of California's most unique natural wonders, is nearby and features sea glass that has washed ashore for decades, creating a glittering shoreline that captivates visitors of all ages. The dramatic coastal bluffs provide stunning hiking opportunities with sweeping ocean vistas, while inland you'll find access to some of the world's most magnificent old-growth redwood forests. Families with children will appreciate the variety of outdoor activities, from tide pooling and whale watching to exploring coastal trails and state parks.

The location on Highway 1 is particularly advantageous for travelers looking to explore the greater Mendocino Coast area. You're positioned perfectly for day trips to nearby towns like Mendocino, with its Victorian architecture and artistic community, or journeys inland to experience the serene beauty of Humboldt Lagoons and other natural treasures. The region is also known for excellent fishing opportunities, both in the ocean and local rivers and streams.

This area appeals to retirees seeking a peaceful coastal setting, families wanting outdoor adventures, and travelers interested in California's coastal heritage. The mild coastal climate makes it accessible for much of the year, and the slower pace of life in Fort Bragg provides a welcome contrast to busier tourist destinations. With a solid 4.3-star rating from nearly 200 reviews, Woodside RV Park & Campground is well-regarded by visitors who appreciate its convenient location and access to authentic California coast experiences.

Phyllis is what gave it the 5th star. She graciously helped me navigate this amazing town. She was with me when I saw a whale! 🐋 🐳 Phyllis had a list of shops and places to visit for separate persnickety people in my party. She graciously reviewed any charges I had questions about. She graciously reviewed any charges I had questions about. She had Rules about driftwood and rocks. SHE IS Ft Bragg as far as I'm concerned. 🤩 ☆☆☆☆☆☆Phyllis☆☆☆☆☆☆☆☆☆ This RV park is clean, and easy to get in and out of. Backwards and forwards. The restrooms and showers are also clean. Do me a favor and stop stealing Phyllis' toilet paper. There is abundant opportunity to view wildlife and nature here, I really enjoyed stargazing here. The hike to Belinda Point from the front office to the water is 1 mile each way. This was doable, but there's a spot to park close to the trailhead for people who would not enjoy a 2 milk walk. Stay on the (easy/flat) trail and enjoy the public beach. I had an absolutely wonderful time having my aura read by Phyllis. It isn't often I feel understood so quickly by a stranger. She pointed me to health and wellness and told me to enjoy my life. Just wonderful 🥰 thanks Phyllis 😊

Showers with lots of hot water. The water at the campground is well water with an excellent filtration system so I didn't need to filter and it tasted good. WiFi is good, cell service in the town of Fort Bragg is a little weak once you're outside of the center but it was good enough. Would recommend this campground!

The staff are better than could ever hope for. The long term residents are super talkative and friendly. Easy to strike up a good conversation. Everything here is simply wonderful. I would absolutely recommend this place to stay at. You'll love it!

We all absolutely love this place and reccomend them to anyone looking for a place to camp in Fort Bragg. They are always so accommodating and friendly. The tent sites and clean and private. The bathrooms are clean and the showers are nice and hot. They have a little playground for the kids and it's within walking distance of a little beach called Belinda point, which we found was empty each time we went. We will definitely be back in upcoming years!
