The Dolores River Overlook has 6 individual walk-in camp/picnic sites, as well as one walk-in group site (3 tables and rings). There is a vault restroom at the parking area and no other camping facilities. The views of the Dolores River Canyon from this Ponderosa Pine dominated site are amazing. A short walk to down the overlook trail (includes rock steps) to the end of the ridge is well worth the effort! There is no fee at this site, and camping is on a first come, first served basis. This is one of the cleanest campgrounds my family has stayed in. The bathrooms and showers were always in prístine condition and always with toilet paper. Right by Dolores river so you can sleep with the sound of water flowing through. We didn’t talk much with the hosts but the few words we had with them, they seemed friendly. We will be going back for sure to enjoy the grounds. This time we camped in a tent but a host let me look at one of the yurts and it looked great inside, even had a mini fridge and looks over the river as well. Their rec center looked amazing, great selection of dvds and board games.

This is a perfect location to visit Telluride, Mesa Verde, The Four Corners, Monument Valley and so much more. A great mix of the rocky mountains and dessert southwest all in one great location.

We loved this RV campground! The sites are not right on top of each other so there's a little breathing room, and they're pretty level. The bathrooms and showers were *immaculate*. Very kid and dog friendly. My kiddos enjoyed the playground and River trail. It's also a great location to check out the entire Cortez-Delores-Mancos area along w Mesa Verde. Clean shower house. Quiet campground. Dog friendly trail. Beautiful river access. We stayed in our travel trailer, but there are a variety of lodging options. The wagons looked cool! Was totally worth the short detour while visiting Mesa Verde.
