What a hidden gem! We stayed two nights during the summer of 2020 and just loved it. The lake was beautiful and the campground was quiet and well maintained. Cell coverage was pretty much non-existent for us except for in the middle of the lake... and that was a really nice break from the outside world! We will be going back for sure!

Lake is about half empty. Water is greenish brown. Smells bad due to drying mud. Campground itself is nice and good view. Very hot in August.

I first came here in early 2021 when I was l staying in Parachute. Probably April of 2021. The scenery of this place stunned me, it was spectacular, wide open space, overview of the water reservoir, flat bank, mountains surround the campsite. I came here many times during my 3 months stay in Parachute. I had grill BBQ in numerous occasions here. Enjoying nature and serenity. In January of 2023,... In January of 2023, I came again, the entire area, including the country roads to the campground, was covered in snow and ice, the entire campground is buried in snow that’s minimum 1 meter deep. It’s still empty, which is amazing. Ice fishing and camping can be done here. I’d imagine that’ll be a fabulous experience. Love this place, I will definitely come again in the future once I’m in Colorado.

Beautiful camp ground in VegaLake State Park, CO. The lake is low this year, so fishing was challenging. However, the park was clean and the employees were friendly and helpful. We enjoyed our time here.
