For $20 I can't give it 5 stars, but I loved the location. It gets cold but not much wind. It's very quiet and out of the way compared to Horseshoe Campground. It's very quiet and out of the way compared to Horseshoe Campground. Mosquitos in July are crazy so bring bug spray! The fire pits are very nice and they were cleaned out when I got there. I had 1 bar of service with Verizon, which I was not expecting. Recreation.gov says I could scan the QR code using the app to pay once I arrived so I didn't bring cash. The camp host was extremely rude and literally walked away when I tried to explain and show him the website. He had apparently never heard of the app or QR codes. I called reservations for help and while I was on the phone, he came back to comb my campsite for flaws and yelled at me to fix them (I was about to start a fire and had cardboard in the fire pit)... He even found an old paper towel under my car. However, if you can be a good boy and bring cash, you probably won't ever interact with him.

Really nice small campground. We took spot number 8, which seem to be one of the largest because we have a 32 foot toy hauler and it just fit. We got there on Friday morning and there were still open spots when we left Sunday morning. There is a pretty good distance between you and the next person and all of the spots are very wooded. Each spot has a fire ring with a grate and a full picnic table. There are 2 bathrooms (outhouses), 1 dumpster and a hand water pump available. It’s also a very short walk to the Limber Grove trailhead, which I highly recommend you check out. It’s only about a 15 to 20 minute hike (easy). No ATV on the camp road but you can have them on the main road with plates. The price is $17 per night (pictures show full pricing). It’s also a great base camp for anyone wanting to do the Mount Sherman 14er.

1. Great camping, firewood for sale at another campground nearby. 2. Mount Sherman is not far, drive slow because of rocky terrain. 3. Showers at the nearby Rec Center and Sinclair Gas Station in Fairplay. Plus there is simulated GOLF at the Cigar Bar next to Sinclair. Great service and drinks!!

Why in the world do I have to pay $24 to camp? My tax dollars paid for this place. Campground itself is fine, cool trails nearby. Noisey, the bathroom reeks
