Most parks have check-in after 1:00 PM and check-out by 11:00 AM. Call ahead if you'll arrive late.

Only 6 or so campsites that have plenty of room between them making each site feel more private. Running creek next to the campground. Hand pump for water....which doesn't taste the best, but a great amenity to have. Pit toilets were clean. Close to trails and Leadville.

A peaceful and scenic camping experience. Surrounded by tall pines and with easy access to hiking trails, it's a great place to connect with nature and enjoy the outdoors.

Incredible dispersed camping along Halfmoon Creek. Most of the open spots can frequently be found up past Mt Massive trailhead. Plenty of wildlife in the area, secure your vehicles and food.

Great camping area. Each campsite has plenty of space but the campsites are limited I believe there are only 6. The campsites are pretty close to each other so if you want privacy this isn't where you'll find it. The creek is very close to some of the campsites which is awesome. Lots of trails and area to explore. If you forgot to bring something there is a Safeway about 25 minutes away and a well... Great camping area. I really love camping next to a river. This place was eerily quiet though. I didn't even hear any birds. Maybe that's normal this time. We did see some birds hiking to Mt. Elbert though.
