The views were spectacular and the weather was perfect. I was here in early October and basically had the entire Horse Thief loop to myself. The nearby hunting lodge is a wonderful place for a hot meal if you want a break from camp fire food. There is no cell service and you will have to drive about 30 min for that. Fuel is about 41 miles in either direction, so plan for that if you are pulling a trailer. The water was turned off for the season when I was there but normally would be available throughout the campground. Tim had buckets of water available for dousing fires if needed.
