Beautiful trail, I didn't go far just couple miles as recovering from injury, but it looks like a beautiful mountain to climb. I'll definitely be back as this whole area around Aspen is just amazing!

Great trail to Snowmass lake and the Four Pass Loop. Road is okay until the first trail on the left. Get there early or in the afternoon to find a spot.

We got there around 4 p.m. for a nice afternoon hike and as soon as we got there it started to rain. Not just a little bit of rain. It was a full on downpour. It was a full on downpour. We decided to give it the old college try since we're both from out of state where we're used to rain. As soon as we started up the muddy trail, though the thunder and lightning started. We pressed on. About 2 hours in we lost the trail and ran into a roaring river. We thought the trail must be on the other side. As we tried to cross the river on a slippery log, my friend slipped and was hanging off the log and I had to save his life with a tree branch. Luckily we didn't make it across since we found out shortly after that fiasco that the trail was right behind us only 30 yards or so. We almost had to spend the night in the cold, but wouldn't have been allowed to since bear boxes are required and we don't even know what that it. Luckily we made it back to the car by around 9 p.m.. at that point the rain had stopped. Better luck next time
