La Veta is popular during peak season. Reserve 2-4 weeks in advance for weekends and holidays.
Most parks have check-in after 1:00 PM and check-out by 11:00 AM. Call ahead if you'll arrive late.
Colorado weather can change quickly. Pack layers and check the forecast for La Veta.
Don't miss local attractions near La Veta. Ask the camp host for hidden gems and trails.

Great place to get away & enjoy the fresh air. Took a couple of hikes in the area. Both campgrounds were clean. I didn’t use any of the latrines (used my RVs facilities). Stayed in site #1 which was a pull-thru site. Road up to CH was in good shape. I would also say ~30’ RV would be max size. Sites are not that big to accommodate bigger RVs. Sites are not that big to accommodate bigger RVs. Host (Scott(?)) was very friendly & helpful answering questions. Arthur (USFS) was also helpful answering questions & actually spoke to along one of my hikes. Thanks to both these guys for making stay that much better!! Something I would remind those going camping here & reason for 4-star rating, the wind here can be harsh. If you look around, you will see the effects it has had on the landscape. One night I was there, the wind blew most of the night. It even shook my trailer enough to wake me up. So, be aware & probably want something better than your average Walmart tent.

Beautiful camp ground, sites are spread out. There is a little creek running thru the campground. The lake is a very close walk from the campsites. Restrooms, dumpsters, and bear boxes for food are provided. So many trout! Great fishing spot.

Finally reopened after a SEVERE blow down 3 years ago. Be prepared for a lot different place now than what was previously here, yet still lovely and beautiful. There is a lot of timber still being moved out from the reclaim and mitigation process. Cold windy day at Bear Lake outside Cuchara, CO. Elevation is around 10,400 and the road to Blue and Bear lake is well maintained. We caught a couple of fish and released them. Camp sites are primitive with vault toilets. It was a great day to visit the area after leaving Santa Fe Trails Ranch, Trinidad, CO this morning.

This is a great campground! The creekside sites are a great place to sit and have your coffee. Staff was very helpful over the phone. We were late arriving, but received emails regarding check in procedures. Sites are close together, but the creek offers a more private sitting area. I would stay here again. Excellent Location, Friendly Staff, and One of the Best RV Park Experiences We’ve Had We stayed at Pikes Peak RV Park while visiting Manitou Springs in our Mini-T HR campervan, and it honestly couldn’t have worked out better. Excellent Location, Friendly Staff, and One of the Best RV Park Experiences We’ve Had We stayed at Pikes Peak RV Park while visiting Manitou Springs in our Mini-T HR campervan, and it honestly couldn’t have worked out better. The location alone makes this park a standout. It’s an easy walk to downtown Manitou Springs with its shops, restaurants, and local character, and it’s also within walking distance to the Manitou Incline and the base trails leading toward Pikes Peak. Not having to deal with driving or parking every time we wanted to explore was a huge bonus. The staff deserves special mention. Everyone we interacted with was friendly, welcoming, and genuinely helpful. They offered great local insight and were very accommodating when it came to placing our campervan. We were set up along the river, which turned out to be the best spot in the park for us. The sound of the water, the relaxed feel, and the natural setting made it feel peaceful without being removed from everything going on nearby. The park itself is well maintained. Restrooms and showers were clean and consistently taken care of, which matters a lot after long hiking days. The overall atmosphere felt relaxed, organized, and comfortable—exactly what you want after tackling something like the Incline or a long day on the trails. Between the walkability, the river setting, the helpful staff, and the clean facilities, Pikes Peak RV Park checked all the boxes for us. If you’re coming to Manitou Springs to hike, explore, or just enjoy the area without constantly moving your rig, this is an easy 5-star stay and a place we would absolutely return to.

Perfect little RV park. Shannon in the front office was super sweet and helpful. Free shuttles right outside the park that can take you right into town. Full hookups with clean showers and a laundry room. They have a partnership with the community pool next door indoor and outdoor pools and gym. I recommend a backup spot by the stream it's lovely to hear throughout the day and especially at night!

This was our first RV Park experience. It was very nice. I'm thankful of the safety and security of this park. Staff are exceptionally friendly and kind. The small fee of $10 for the dog wash included shampoo, towels and a waterproof apron (this was such a great setup, and the shampoo left my pet's for so soft). Laundry facilities are reasonably priced and we could leave the room and know our stuff would be there when we came back because it is locked by passcode. We really enjoyed our spot, the creek had several ducks in it all day for all 3 days we were there. Such a lovely place, we'll be back next time we're in the area!
