Had a great time relaxing and playing some games, keeping cozy by the fire, and eating good food. Definitely expect mice, my best advice is to treat them like bears, and make sure all food is secure and out of reach. Cleanliness is truly the best defense against them. Hang as much as you can from the numerous nails in the rafters.

Watch your head when you enter the cabin or go upstairs if you're tall!! Wonderful site. Saw a Bull Moose, and a Coyote. Easy access to Boreas Pass for hiking

Stayed here on 6/24-27, 2021. Weather wasn't great, but the cabin was. It's a primitive cabin, so no electricity, running water, or other amenities people might think of with a cabin. It's more similar to tent camping, regarding amenities. There are plenty of sleeping spaces: 5 beds total + 1 couch/futon that converts to a bed. It's a primitive cabin, so no electricity, running water, or other amenities people might think of with a cabin. It's more similar to tent camping, regarding amenities. There are plenty of sleeping spaces: 5 beds total + 1 couch/futon that converts to a bed. The mattresses are all pretty uncomfortable and the couch/futon pad is so old that it's brutal just to sit on -- so, you'd need your own pad to sleep there. Our weather was in the low 40s overnight (with snowfall in the hills), but the cabin stayed warm Too warm, in fact, as most were sleeping on tops of their bedding with only a small fire in the wood burning stove. Very pretty scenery. Completely secluded, private, and quiet. Cabin was clean. We could hear a mouse or two at night, but they would only eat what was left out -- very easy to prevent and, for those interested, there are mouse traps in the cabin if you wanted to battle the rodents.

Nice cabin. Bring candles. Listening to music helps hide some of the erie cabin sounds. Bring a friend along, can be spooky when alone and the strange sounds start.

Beautiful place to stay the night. However, the air quality inside the cabin is really, really bad. The stove smokes and the ventilation on the first floor is poor. The dark first floor, poor ventilation, and mouse leavings puts individuals at risk for the deadly Hanta Virus. Also, the front door has a very flimsy slide lock that could easily be broken into.
