Methane odor in outhouse unbearable and NO toilet paper. Millions of flies in campground were swarming us, they were uncontrollable. I mean literally hordes of flies. Stayed 2 days because we had already paid. I will have to sanitize everything we brought, now our tents are ruined. Totally infested - Flies filled up our tent flies and were writhing all over everything. Now our tents and chairs are all sticky. The outhouse ceiling was filled with thousands of flies and the methane smell was unbearable. Forest service emailed that they put fly paper up, haha no help! Note, this creek is only accessible outside the gate and very far across a pasture from campsites beyond that. So no water available, pump is non functional. We hauled from the far far away creek to put out our fire....many many trips on foot with a jug, there needs to be a water source here for safety! stayed mid July 2023. Never will stay again, this is the worst maintained campground Ive ever seen.. Camp was devoid of absolutely any other guests and we never saw a ranger! You can tell it was once very nice sadly. The forest is truly beautiful here. Forest service has turned it into a Ghost camp.
