Camped here at the end of may. We started our journey from Bear lake and went down through Bierstadt lake the next day. Sadly trees were all down and snow was still there! It’s pretty secluded and campground was well maintained. All trail app, Crampon, and hiking poles were life saver!! Couldn’t see any animal but heard footsteps around our tent during the night. Wish I can visit there again when... Camped here at the end of may. We started our journey from Bear lake and went down through Bierstadt lake the next day. Campground is very well maintained and the tent areas are nice and flat with a decent amount of room. Located right next to the creek, water access is only 50 meters or so away with elk and birds meandering and doing what they do. Leave no trace, leave wildlife alone, and enjoy the trails.
