Most beautiful campground I have ever been to in my life. Clean, mostly quiet as the campsites are spread apart. Road to and through the campground is very rough so don’t try to get in there with a sedan. Easy access to Yankee Boy Basin and back into Ouray. Would go back again!

We will be coming back. FCFS site. Everyone was respectful. Campsites decently spread out too. Higher clearance vehicle recommended for sure. No sedan is making the entrance.

🐾dog friendly Beautiful scenery just outside of Ouray (~10min) on the other side of Box Canyon. This campground is on first-come-first-serve basis with a maximum stay of 14 days. Primitive and minimal camping here with the river running at the base of camp. We drank this water🤗 It’s Rocky Mountain camping, so bring a nice sleeping pad otherwise you are sleeping on rocks. The entrance was rocky and uneven, so you will need a higher lift on your vehicle to enter. We have a Subaru Crosstrek and it worked well.

Veterans stay for $5 with your pass, nice clean pit toilets, and the sites are nicely layout for a tenting camping stay.

We ended up finding this campsite after going up to Amphitheater and finding out it was completely full. The hosts told us about Angel Creek and we are so glad they did!! The vault toilet up there was super clean. We got water in our bladders from the river down at the base of the site. There was quite a bit of ATV/Jeep/Dirtbike traffic, but once the sun went down, you couldn't hear them at all. It's so close to Ouray, like a 5 min drive. I would definitely come back to camp here!!!
