Very cozy and tranquil campground hidden in a gorge far below the road! The lower sites by the river are nicely spaced a roomy with lots of large evergreen trees and shade! The campground hosts were very friendly and welcoming to guests! Looking forward to staying at this campground again on a future visit to the area!

A very nice campground, well set up, close to the river. Very clean campsites. All in all, a gem, but what made it memorable was meeting Mike, the camp host. When I first pulled in, I didn't see any open sites by the river and when I pulled up the hill, I met Mike. He explained there were no open sites left, but after chatting for awhile, he told me he was going to let me have one that had been previously reserved, but the folks had left a day early and since I was only there for one night, he would let me have the spot and on top of that, not charge me for the site, since the folks that left had already paid for it and wanted it to go to someone who could use it. Mike, I really appreciate your kind gesture and your friendly attitude. We need more folks like you!

This place was the perfect layover for me traveling from Great Sand Dunes to Mesa Verde. First come first serve, find an open campsite, then register and drop money in the mailbox thing. Beautiful site, a bunch of families having a good time but wasn’t noisy by any means. The river is incredible and there were hardly any bugs which blew my mind. 10/10 would recommend

This is a dry camp site with large trailer or RV access. The access road is an easy well maintained dirt road. Just finished a 5 day stay at Aspen Glade. I believe this campground is one of the nicest spots along the Conejoes River in this area. More ponderosa pines than many of the other campgrounds. Very nice, level sites. Clean vault toilets. The camp hosts are great. Mike is a character and what I like to call, casually professional, with a good sense of humor. Unfortunately the river was high and muddy so even trying every day I failed to get a single strike. No one else fishing had any better luck so disappointed at such a bust. The saving grace was the beautiful location making it all worthwhile.
