Mogote Campground

Upper loop doesn't have many trees and is very open. It looks more desert like. The lower loop has all the great trees, many sites have amazing river access. Be prepared for a lot of mosquitoes. There seems to be a swampy area near sites 22 and 23 near the trash cans that produces these pesky biters. Sam, the camp host does an amazing job at keeping the sites clean and friendly. We did not see much wildlife other than chipmunks, occasionally we saw a deer on the other side of the river and a couple fisherman saw a bear come down to fish on one of the river islands.
