It’s beautiful here and the friendly campground cats are an added bonus :)Already looking to booking another trip here in a few months!

Our first encounter with the owners was them telling us that we couldn't come in. I have 5 children so that put us over the 6 person limit. This was totally unintentional on my part, which we tried to explain. But they kept asking why I would make such a mistake. I tried to explain with multiple browser windows and multiple campgrounds, it's possible to make a mistake booking a campsite. They spoke to us like we were trying to drive away with half the camp store. We finally had to say, "Look. Can we stay or not? We really don't care at this point, but the kids have been driving all day, and we'd like to get out of the car." They told us we would have to pay a surcharge for the additional person, but in the future we should "read the fine print." OK. The sun stays up late in the summer in Durango, but don't expect to do anything after 6pm at this campground. The pool, pickle ball courts, fire pit, etc are closed. So if you have enjoyed the area all day, you can come back and get in your camper. That won't be a huge problem because outside your camper smells like sewer because the connections are bad or people don't know how to tighten their hoses or whatever. We camp ALOT and have never had to sit with so many bad smells. Also, every child under 16 has to be accompanied by an adult at all times. No sending your kid to the dumpster with your trash; they must be supervised. Don't let them on the swings by themselves. Rules are rules. I get it. But I would never recommend this place. They are rude, fuddy-duddies that don't actually want to visit with or enjoy people. If you want your campground sans children, then make it a 55+ campground.

While Pam was amazing on the phone, and CJ greeted us with a delightful welcoming; an old bitter woman came whining abiut our camper light that my boys were usinig to eat dinner at the table and set up their tent at 8pm when the rules state lights out at 10pm. A day before our stay we were told that we needed to arrive by 4pm or loose our reservation when the website at booking was much much later. Pam and CJ helped us with this but it left a bitterness that they are so shady. Oh and by the way the shower facilities are falling apart and look like they are out of the 60's. Not really worth the price in our opi ion and the worst place we stay in our lifetime.

Checked into this beautiful park this afternoon. Pretty level site, great atmosphere. Friendly staff, good pizza at the Cafe (can't wait to try breakfast in the morning). Unfortunately an SOB up wind of me is smoking a cheap cigar that has sent me off into a sneezing attack. And I get to camp near someone with a cheap cigar habit. Sorry, as you can tell I'm not a fan of smoking, even outside.

This is a beautiful campground. The staff couldn’t be nicer. It’s clean and quiet. They have a breakfast menu and dinner menu. Small selection but good. Laundry area and bathrooms are all good. We loved taking the train ride to Silverton and it was great going to downtown Durango. We would definitely go back and highly recommend.
