Carpios Ridge Campground

We really enjoyed our stay in site #42. The rangers were helpful, friendly and knowledgeable. The campgrounds are well kept and the comfort station was clean. The showers were free for registered campers and the laundry seemed to be a good price. The park rents out a family hiking backpack, which is awesome, I wish more parks did that. This served as a great location to see the town of Trinidad, drive the Highway of Legends and to see the leaves changing. Highly recommend this state park.

We camped 6/20 thru 6/22 at Carios Ridge. It was our first time to stay there and thoroughly enjoyed the location. The park is well-managed and the restrooms and showers were great! We would definitely like to come once a year as it's just 4 miles into downtown Trinidad with an assortment of restaurants. We brought to-go meals back to camp and enjoyed them there. Colorado has some of the most amazing parks and one is at the top of my list, It has it all! Great trails , camp ground is unique in that each spot although close to one another are more private with the terrain and landscaping each one has its own unique views! From the mountains to the lake you can't help but be in awe. The amenities are endless . There is also boat ramp for water access and...
