Nice area! Very remote, next town for supplies is Paonia so plan ahead for firewood etc. my spot was #5. Be aware the water is extremely low mid summer for fishing. The hike at Dark Canyon is a nice one. Also, bear country without bear boxes, take bear precautions. I never saw one, but the ranger had.

This campground was very accessible for all vehicles and plenty of turnaround space for 5th wheels or trailers. I stayed in a primitive tent spot in the 1, 2, and 3 loop when you first enter the campground. It must've just opened for the season because it was pristine and very well maintained! This site is dog friendly and had poop bags available and 2 bear-resistant garbage bins. I also loved seeing how ADA compliant and accessible it was. It's not a feature that I need so I can't speak to the functionality, I just think everyone deserves to enjoy the outdoors so it was great to see! The toilets were super clean, the firepits were well maintained, and the gravel roads were smooth and free of dips and holes. The boat ramp and inspection was only 1/4 mile further so you're close to everything. The river is right by the sites in this area and the sounds and views are so peaceful. The stargazing was immaculate! I saw 4 shooting stars and the stream of 20-30 Starlink satellites. There is no service, so come prepared to disconnect :)

Good place for 1 to 5 night camping. The side offers 7 good spots to say. One of the best thing is a camp site that is ADA approved too. I my self have problems walking so it is good this place got spots for all types of people who like to camp. Well taken care of and super close to fishing too. Only bad thing is NO cell service but to some that is good to unplug. You need to book online first but... Good place for 1 to 5 night camping. The side offers 7 good spots to say. Bring bug spray and lots of firewood too. Happy camping.

This is a very nice campground. The bathroom at our end (near site 6) was immaculate as were the grounds. This campground is immaculate. The man who manages it does an amazing job. Clean bathrooms, mowed grass, no trash.. it was peaceful and perfect for us. Would highly recommend campsites 6 or 2!
