Campground in Delaware.

Trap Pond State Park Campground offers a serene escape into Delaware's natural beauty, where visitors can experience the charm of the First State's pristine landscapes. Located in Laurel, Delaware, this campground serves as an ideal base for exploring one of the region's most enchanting natural areas. The park centers around a scenic 13-acre freshwater pond that has captivated nature enthusiasts for generations, creating a peaceful setting perfect for RV camping and outdoor recreation.

The campground provides a genuine connection to Delaware's coastal plain ecosystem. Trap Pond itself is a botanical treasure, featuring a unique cypress swamp environment that creates an almost mystical atmosphere, especially during early morning hours when mist rises off the water. This campground is probably my favorite so far. There is so much to do between the swamp kayaking. Boat tours, nature center, gigantic activity areas, gravel trails, and playground. The sites are spacious, clean, and level (i stayed in loop A site 18). I plan to come back with my kids next time and may even consider an annual pass. The bathouses were also very clean!

Trap Pond is a hidden gem! We went kayaking and were blown away by the beauty of the bald cypress trees — it’s like paddling through a swampy fairytale. The water was calm, the wildlife was everywhere (we saw turtles, herons, and dragonflies), and the whole experience felt peaceful and magical. The park is well-maintained with easy access to the launch, and there’s plenty of shade along the way. W... Trap Pond is a hidden gem! We try camping here once a year. Always quiet and enjoy our stay. Lots of nice trails. Biking, fishing and boating. Take a tour or do it yourself. Areas are shaded, clean with room to spread out from your neighbors and the bathhouse are nice. We have never had a bad stay here.
