Sarasota is popular during peak season. Reserve 2-4 weeks in advance for weekends and holidays.
Most parks have check-in after 1:00 PM and check-out by 11:00 AM. Call ahead if you'll arrive late.
Florida weather can change quickly. Pack layers and check the forecast for Sarasota.
Don't miss local attractions near Sarasota. Ask the camp host for hidden gems and trails.

Been camping out there for decades. I wish the park would fix the well. No water on site. Last year, we had a bobcat stroll through camp. Quiet and nice.

Used mountain bike to get out here and saw a hog, a turtle shell and a gator skull. Main campsite is very nice. Theres some trees to setup a hammock in the shade, a nice opening to look up at the stars and plenty of burnables thanks to the park rangers cleaning the sites up. Be sure to bring plenty of water and bug spray! Best of all the ranger I talked to was very informative and awefully cute :)

No water or facilities of any kind here. Beautiful and wild. You will see and hear all kinds of wildlife at night. And also, State road 72 can be heard unfortunately. Still a beautiful place to backcountry camp.

Horrible staff!!! First I call ahead then I get there and they put me on hold and leave the phone off the hook till they close so I drove over 3 hrs there and wasted all my gas for nothing. I went to every entrance and tried calling the number there as well and again for over half an HR phone was still off the hook and the last time I spoke to anyone they were incredibly rude. You could tell that... Horrible staff!!! You could tell that they didn't care about their campers near the end of their shift only about getting off work and being lazy will never refer them to anyone ever again!! That isn't how ppl should treat one another oh yes and after I pulled out of the park I had a flat tire too so I wouldn't recommend this place or driving through it either.

Mosquito swarms drink your blood can be measured by quarts by the hour, no vehicles passable. Good luck.
