I really like bringing my toddler to play here. It’s a quiet, secluded park, with the basic things - restroom, playground, volley court. It’s rare there are kids here, but it’s also pretty nice for a quiet outing.

It is a really good environment in the park. You can do a lot of stuff. They have a ramp so if you have boat or jetski you can launch right in the river from there. There is a nice playground for the kids with sand. They have gazebo for rent for big parties at a good price and a few tables with barbecue that are first come first had it. Superb place to stop for those heading over to Fort Myers or Naples (or travelling along Florida 80). Lots of picnic tables, BBQ grills and trails. Wide open spaces to play and a nice pier. Clean toilets. Lots of working water fountains. A really nice place to rest and a place to see along the way!

Very nice peaceful visit to a small museum and to view the locks. A few benches to view the locks would be so helpful for those who could use a place to rest.

First time seeing manatees! Boats moving through the lock during the day, fishing from the dam, sunrise and sunsets are gorgeous.... Amazing campground! Smaller campground (30 sites) positioned perfectly for privacy as well as beautiful views of the water..(instead of your neighbors!) Definitely suggest reservations...well ahead of time...seems to stay booked. We have a 33ft 5th wheel with a slide and awning and had plenty of space.
