Went in early February. Campground was peaceful and not hard to reach. Only complaint is that there was a fire ban but there was no signage saying that. Bathrooms are actually pretty nice, they are sealed pretty well and had hand sanitizer and toilet paper that was well stocked. We could see the stars but I wouldn't come out just for them. Everglades city is a short drive away.

Campground hosts aren't enforcing quiet hours, woken up by RV generators at midnight then again at 530am both nights we stayed. RVs need to camp at Monument, just a couple miles to the east if they can't live without electricity, tents need someplace to enjoy without all that racket. RV and tent camping just aren't compatible. Other than the lack of sleep we enjoyed our stay, it was clean and well... Very quiet, not too crowded, hosts were helpful and friendly, didn’t see any gators or bears. The bugs got really bad right after sundown, but fortunately we had a screened in awning. What are you gonna do? That’s camping in the Everglades. Overall had a great experience.

It is a really beautiful campground. Only downside and a warning to other astronomers, the night skies are actually not very dark. I went here to set up a telescope, and I was very disappointed how bright the sky was towards Miami.

Nice, simple Campground. The rv space is facing the wrong way, away from the water. Alligators do live in the lake. Not dog walking friendly.
