Our Carolina Camping Club takeover at Hester’s Bottoms Family Campground was nothing short of incredible! This wonderful campground is a true hidden gem—rich in history, full of charm, and managed by some of the kindest, most welcoming hosts we’ve ever met. The staff went above and beyond to make our group feel right at home, and the campground itself was spotless, spacious, and well-organized. Everything needed was right there—from clean bathhouses, to shaded gathering areas, a campground store, electricity and water hookups, a dump station, a beach, boat launch, golfcart and kayak rentals, a laundry, huge waterfront sites, and peaceful walking trails. Plus, as a standout unicorn campground, Hester’s Bottoms has usesble Wi-Fi, EVERYWHERE! One of the absolute highlights of the weekend was the Saturday night luau and pig picking hosted by the campground. It was next-level! The food was phenomenal—perfectly cooked South Carolina pork provided by the campground paired with all the potluck fixings brought by club members —and the luau theme added so much fun and flair to the evening. Music, laughter, and delicious food brought everyone together, creating the kind of memories our club will be talking about for years to come. Add in the campground’s unique historical background, and you’ve got a place that’s not only fun but meaningful. Whether we were learning about the land’s history, enjoying nature, or connecting with camping friends new and old, Hester’s Bottoms delivered a one-of-a-kind experience. Every campout and gathering with the CCC is filled with laughter, nature, shared stories, and new lifelong friendships. If you’re looking for more than just camping, join the CCC family—you’ll find adventure, community, and joy in every campfire’s glow. Huge thanks to the Hester’s Bottoms owners and staff for putting so much heart into this wonderful campground. We can’t wait to come back again in August 2026.

Visited for the third time last weekend and just had to make sure I left a review this time! We were joined by our camping club and I believe we were only a few sites shy of taking over the place. From the friendly staff throughout to the luau/pig roast and DJ, we couldn’t ask for anything more! Except maybe full hookup sites 🤣 We love Hester’s Bottoms!

Hester’s Bottoms is a fantastic campground with amazing views at each site and great golf cart trails. Staff is incredible, friendly, helpful and truly guest-oriented. Each spot has plenty of space between your neighbor (unless it’s a buddy site obviously). Good Wi-Fi too! Highly recommend! 🙌

Stayed the weekend on beautiful lake front site. I enjoy that my site was off the main road and separated with woods between neighbors for privacy sake.
