About Albert Moser Campground

Albert Moser Campground is situated on the banks of the Cub River about nine miles from Preston. Built by the Civilian Conservation Corps in the late 1930s, the campground is just off Cub River Road, at an elevation of 6,000 feet.

Albert Moser Campground offers a wonderful escape into Idaho's natural beauty, providing RV travelers with easy access to some of the state's most scenic outdoor recreation areas. Located in Idaho, this public campground serves as an ideal base camp for those seeking adventure in the mountains and wilderness that define this region of the Pacific Northwest.

The campground benefits from its positioning near excellent opportunities for outdoor enthusiasts. Fishermen will find themselves in prime territory, with nearby waters offering excellent chances to land trout and other freshwater species. Hiking trails in the surrounding area range from gentle nature walks to more challenging alpine adventures, making this destination suitable for families with children as well as serious backcountry explorers. The landscape around Albert Moser Campground showcases the classic Idaho scenery that draws visitors year after year: forested hillsides, mountain vistas, and pristine natural spaces that feel worlds away from urban life.

As a public campground, Albert Moser provides a more authentic camping experience compared to some commercial RV parks, with a focus on access to nature rather than elaborate amenities. This makes it particularly appealing to RV travelers who prioritize being close to outdoor activities and scenic beauty over resort-style facilities. The campground atmosphere tends to attract like-minded outdoor enthusiasts who share a passion for exploration and natural spaces.

The surrounding Idaho region offers compelling attractions for those willing to venture slightly beyond the campground. Whether you're interested in exploring mountain towns, visiting scenic overlooks, or discovering hidden natural gems, the area provides plenty to keep travelers engaged during their stay. The changing seasons bring different appeal to the location, from summer hiking season through the dramatic transformation of fall foliage.

Albert Moser Campground is well-suited for RV travelers seeking an authentic outdoor experience, families wanting to teach children about nature, fishing enthusiasts targeting quality trout waters, and anyone looking to escape into Idaho's remarkable wilderness landscape.

This is a really decent campground. The sites are fairly small for the most part but also fairly secluded. There is really good access to a couple decent hikes. And you're not very far from Willow flat which has access to other hikes as well. There is water nearby in spigots about every other site. The fire rings are great and there are benches in the sites. The fire rings are great and there are benches in the sites. There are two sets of bathrooms which are the main source for me docking one star because they are not very pleasant. The Cub River runs right through the camp and has easy access from a few of the sites for some fun if you are okay with freezing cold water. The sites are fairly shaded as well, which is nice in the summer. We went in mid-July and had no problem with bugs. There's a parking lot across the bridge and a larger one across the road for extra cars if needs be. The hosts are actually up at the willow flat campground if you need them. No one in our party got service in this camp.

Great place for camping! Lots of birds which means they will wake you up, but that also means not tons of bugs. Definitely a popular ATV area, but we didn't hear non stop engines or anything. Very green, tons of shade. 15 minutes from Preston if you need anything. Be aware, this is NOT a place for camping trailers. A nice campground! The bathrooms were well-maintained and clean, didn’t even smell bad. This campsite was the first one on the left coming into the campsite, it wasn’t ideal in that way because people were always driving past during the day, but otherwise great. There is a little water wheel next to the campsite too which is fun.

Nice campground, bathrooms are a little rough, but okay. ATV trails in this area are difficult for young or inexperienced riders. Cub river was flowing high and fun to splash in. Tables at every camp spots and a fire pit. Plenty of shade. Lots of dogs, all friendly during our stay.

Beautiful location with Cub River running by each campsite. I only rated it down because the vaulted toilets that served our campsites were disgusting. The smell was so bad it made my eyes burn. The smell was so bad it made my eyes burn. So we all just walked to the start of the camp to the single valuted toilet and it was much better. That toilet was wheelchair accessible. The stinky ones were not. They were at the top of a steep hill and there was a step to get in but those toilets were separated into mens and womens. There was water spigot with soap from camp hosts, by each bathroom as well as two other water spigots. It is gravel roads to the camp and in the camp. Albert Moser was easy to find, marked by a sign. Lots of shade, nice overall.
