Newport is popular during peak season. Reserve 2-4 weeks in advance for weekends and holidays.
Most parks have check-in after 1:00 PM and check-out by 11:00 AM. Call ahead if you'll arrive late.

We love it here and make a point to camp here at least once a summer. This is my 3rd weekend camping here this month. I have tent camped and trailer camped and enjoyed both. The waterfront is awesome. It is a good place to bring kayaks and our canoe. The kids love the treehouse and gaga ball pit. This is a quiet place to camp not too far from town. I would highly recommend Camp Cowles if you are looking for a restful camping trip. Reservations are required.

There's full bathrooms as well. Be careful using Google maps as directions can be incorrect. There's two driveways according to Google maps directions. One can be incorrect so plan for that. There's an old rustic feel which is cool and unfortunately you cannot see the lake from the building as the trees block your view. That was a little disappointing. However, you can walk down to the beach where it's quite large and spacious

They have recently logged the place and it doesn't even resemble the camp I've known all my life. First they tear down a camp land mark ( Finch Lodge) the first building built on camp for the boys. Very nice camp. Much larger than you might think at first.
