I had an absolutely terrible experience with Elk Bend RV Park, and I strongly caution anyone considering booking here. I had an absolutely terrible experience with Elk Bend RV Park, and I strongly caution anyone considering booking here. My family reserved three campsites, but due to a sudden death in the family—my mother passed away—I needed to cancel one of the reservations with only three days’ notice. Admittedly, I wasn’t aware of their cancellation policy since a friend booked the sites with their credit card, and I never saw the fine print. But their policy is outrageously strict: full refunds require 30 days’ notice, 50% refunds within 14 days, and zero refunds if you cancel less than 14 days out. Even worse, if you don’t show up on your arrival date, they cancel your reservation without any refund. I understand policies exist for a reason, but when someone is grieving a profound loss, you’d expect a shred of compassion or flexibility, especially since we were only canceling one of three sites. Instead, the manager was unbelievably callous. He had the nerve to complain about his financial loss while I was dealing with my mother’s death. It was heartless and completely tone-deaf. To top it off, I’m certain they’ll resell the campsite and pocket double the money, which feels like pure greed.Their rigid policy and the manager’s lack of empathy make this place a nightmare to deal with in a crisis. Save yourself the hassle and book somewhere that actually cares about its customers.

Fantastic little RV park. Had a great time chatting with the owner. He runs a tight ship. Bathrooms clean. Sites are nice. Location excellent. We will definitely stay here again when we come back through this area.

Stu was a wonderful host and campground was very clean and well kept. Very close to Gold Bug Hot Springs which was a real treat! Wish we would have had more time would have tried the bar across the street and explored the Salmon River. Hope to go back again sometime thanks Stu!

My family and I are very disappointed with this campground. On the day we were scheduled to arrive, our vehicle had mechanical issues. We were gracious to find a mechanic on short notice and get us up and running. We called Elk Bend to let them know we were running late and will not arrive until 9:30. The owner was a bit rude and had no flexibility or compassion and said if we can make it before 9... My family and I are very disappointed with this campground. An offer was made to switch the resevation to the next day, but our schedule did not allow that. We had to pay for another camp site nearby, and lost our paid reservation. I caution anyone reserving at Elk Bend Rv to read his policies first. It might change your mind.
