We enjoyed camping at Mountain Fawn. We had a site that backed up to the beach with water and electric. They also have a dump station. The nights were quiet and great for star gazing. The water was quite warm and very clear and the color was amazing. They call this lake the Caribbean of the Rockies, and we agree. We would definitely return.

The campsites had a campfire, a grill, areas for a tense space, areas for a pop-up camper or an RV, shaded areas, and very easy access to the beach. This is the best of the best when it comes to campgrounds you wake up and you’re looking at the beautiful blue water that consumes Bear Lake. Access to the lake is a short 30 second walk. I did see some other people posted reviews of there being stickers in the grass and bushes, I will note that this is very true. I would bring closed toed shoes, I wore Chaco’s, and my son wore crocs. As long as you have shoes on, you aren’t getting stabbed by the dangerous prickly stickers though. Overall, this was an amazing trip, quiet hours are after 10 PM and although the campsite was fully booked, it seemed like at night, It was just the stars and us. I would definitely book this campsite again and I would definitely go back to this campground 1 million times I highly recommend to anyone looking to take their family on a fun outing for the weekend on the water.

They can easily poke through fabric and make the place feel uninhabitable. also there was no shade For $60 a night, I expected a basic level of maintenance and comfort, but this site felt neglected and overpriced. There was no clear or safe place to set up a tent, and overall the area was not family-friendly or enjoyable. I wouldn’t recommend this campground to anyone looking for a decent camping experience.

I want to give it five stars and I will keep coming back here every year. The campgrounds lack trees. If you don’t have a camper trailer the rocks are uncomfortable under the tent when you are walking in the tent. Also people don’t respect quiet hour. Unless you have a camper trailer it doesn’t matter but for tent camping it can get loud. But for the good stuff it’s quiet on the beach and not that many people compared to try day use area. The lake is beautiful. It’s a great way to watch the sunset over bear lake. Even though it has four stars we will keep coming back yearly but they could improve it.
