Ever heard of The Night of the Grizzlies? I wouldn't be surprised if this campground develops a bear problem. We arrived to find the hard bear-resistant food storage boxes plum full of festering hot garbage. Garbage truck day seemed to be Thursday so you'll be lucky if there is enough bin space Tuesday/Wednesday. Campsites left food, alcohol and trash out over night. But the ground squirrels and hares love that. Vehicles move barriers to be able to drive where they want. Two of the sites' occupants included a large number of children that were left unattended to play. (Great). The kids were probably 1.5 to 13 years old. Several times the toddlers were down by the water by themselves without life jackets. I nearly had a panic attack. One of the older kids told us they'd been there for 5 weeks. At the time I took the comment with a grain of salt, but it became clear that might be true as our stay continued. This campground is basically a sun-baked free for all. The Forest Service and local law enforcement seem pretty incompetent to enforce posted rules and protect patrons and wildlife.

Nice big sites with plenty of space between them. Nice access to the Lake. Moose wandered thru our site and into the water twice the day we were there. Most of the trees are gone so there is little shade right now.... (I'd give it 5 stars otherwise) No power or water here so come prepared.

Shame the trees had to all be cut down, pesky beetles. Still, at this elevation and right on the water, heat wasn't really a problem. Might be better over near the boat ramp, didn't try it.

Concessionaire operated site in the summer by Big Sky Recreation. Is a favorite site for fishing and boating. Open campground with no trees because of beetle infestation. Easy access to a boat ramp
