South Fork of the Snake River: Menan Boat Access offers a serene riverside camping experience in the heart of Idaho's beautiful Snake River Valley. This public campground provides the perfect base for anglers, boaters, and nature enthusiasts seeking to explore one of the region's most scenic waterways. With direct access to the South Fork of the Snake River, visitors can launch boats, kayaks, and fishing gear right from the campground, making it an ideal destination for water-based recreation.

The surrounding landscape showcases the rugged beauty characteristic of central Idaho. Towering cottonwoods and willows frame the riverbanks, creating natural shade and a peaceful atmosphere for campers. The river itself meanders through diverse terrain, offering stunning views and excellent opportunities for wildlife viewing. Early mornings often reward visitors with sightings of elk, deer, and various bird species that call this region home.

Anglers consider the South Fork of the Snake River a premier destination, known for its healthy populations of cutthroat and rainbow trout. Whether you're an experienced fly fisher or someone new to the sport, the river's productive waters provide excellent chances for a rewarding day on the stream. The boat access makes it convenient to reach prime fishing spots along the river's course.

Beyond fishing and boating, the location serves as an excellent jumping-off point for exploring the greater Teton and Jackson Hole region. The proximity to stunning mountain scenery, hiking trails, and other outdoor attractions means you're never far from adventure. The Menan area itself offers a quieter, more intimate camping experience compared to busier destination campgrounds, while still providing convenient access to popular attractions and activities.

This campground appeals to those seeking genuine outdoor recreation in a peaceful setting. It's particularly well-suited for families wanting to introduce children to camping and water sports, solo travelers seeking solitude in nature, and groups of friends or relatives who want to share a riverside getaway. The combination of direct river access, scenic surroundings, and proximity to regional attractions makes this a versatile destination for various camping styles and interests.

Stayed last summer. Many homeless walking by and some living in park. Loud generators running most the night next to RVs that looked 50 years old….and not in a good way. Great park, but I’d think twice about leaving anything unattended. No hookups. Nice dump station. $40/night 2025.

One of our favorite places to put in and paddle! Well typically go upriver passed Pancheri a bit, then float back to the dock. Always do so safely!

Not much of a tourist park. It's a rest area that charges $18 a night to rest at. It was very busy. The parking area was pretty green and clean, and the restroom was clean, with one stall. The area is adjacent to what appears to be a rock quarry. The river and pathways are filthy. Some of the worst I have ever seen.
