We were there for 13 days and over Memorial Day. It was a bit crazy over Memorial Day, no camp host patrolling like he had every week day since we had been there, no fish and game they came on Tues, no police patrol; they needed someone to keep the ATV and UTV's out of the campground and off the beach. Long potholed gravel road last few miles, but if you are ok w that it's a pretty cool campground. Nice big trees & shade. Good boat ramp. Great views of the river and train bridge. Trains go right by CG very close, Noisy- but cool!

Came in late summer, so the road in was super rough washboard. Water was really low too. Beautiful scenery and saw lots of wildlife- coyote, pelican, egrits, jack rabbits, turkey, rattle and rat snake. Its neat to see the trains up close, but didn't make for a good night sleep. We'd probably come again, but for a day trip, or camp up the road farther from the train bridge.

They've got a pretty good sized Sand Dune area. And if you like shooting there's areas for that as well. Just be mindful of ranchers cattle that are free range. Make sure not to hit one of those or you being a lot of trouble, LOL

Very shady. Walk down to the river and fish. Vault toilets are surprisingly clean with plenty of TP. Camp host is very friendly and helpful with local knowledge of the area.
