This is one of my favorites from my 2 week road trip. Private & quiet camp sites with beauty all around. The lake is so beautiful and serene! Vault toilets, fyi. I hope to come back here again.

This campground is nice. Mainly for dry camping. The road in and out is very narrow. You may have to pull over to let others go by. The lake is nice. The water is so clear. There are vault toilets available. There’s also a boat ramp.

Stopped here on the way back down from Josephine Lake. This lake is very nice. Only one travel trailer there. Lots of room to camp and load your kayak in the lake. Fall Colors were beautiful. Fishing is good based on reports I read. Beautiful!!!

Mosquitoes. Our trip was plagued with mosquitoes. The water was hand pumped and didn't look clean enough to drink. Bring your own water. No garbage service, so you have to pack it out. It isn't too far from McCall so this is silly. The hosts were nice.

Classic Forest Service Campground with minimal services in a nice location. In the early season the lake is full so this is the best time to visit to enjoy the lake. In late season the lake can be quite low and is just a different experience. If you are going for hiking there are lots of opportunities nearby to enjoy so the location is great.

One of the most beautiful Forest Service campgrounds in Island Park. It is several miles from busy Highway 20, so it's quieter than other Forest Service campgrounds in the area. Seven of the 15 campsites have electricity (30 and 50 amp). Individual sites do not have water, but there are several water spigots scattered throughout the campground where a person can fill his/her fresh water tank.... The trail to Coffee Pot Rapids begins just outside the campground gate. There is parking (referred to on signage as "Fisherman's Parking") outside the campground gate. Parking within the campground is for paying campers only. Campers may float down the Henry's Fork on kayaks, tubes, canoes, etc., and take out right in the campground. Those who float down the river, who are not paying campers, must take out at a new location (Sept. 2025) just west of the campground. Parking in the campground to load flotation devices is prohibited by the Forest Service.

The sites were relatively clean. There were water valves evenly dispersed through out the campground. Restrooms are drop down, and recently emptied so they don't smell that bad yet. The campground was extremely busy. People came and went all day looking for spots. We even had people knock asking when we were leaving. So keep that in mind. That combined with everybody getting out of the river in the middle of the campground made it so busy.

I took the river trail and it is absolutely beautiful. I would highly recommend it for anyone visiting Island Park. It's a very easy hike, you're by the river pretty much the entire time. Watch for moose!

We stayed just one night, but it was the most lovely spot we stayed in our 2000 mile drive trip. We arrived in the late afternoon and there were several spots to choose from, but I expect it could be harder earlier in the summer or on a weekend. There's a trail along the river. I didn't take a chance on putting my kayak in since I didn't have the required Idaho invasive species permit, but I wante... very beautiful campground. Only has 16 sites and very clean and quiet. I had site #6 and used a tent. there is no power outlet on this site #. I was less than 100 feet from the Henry river. I camped in The end of July and there were very few bugs. I didn't use my bug spray. Camp Hosts keep the bathroom very clean. Its a out house with no sink but had hand sanitizer every day.
