Big Creek Campground (Flathead National Forest, MT)

Big Creek Campground is managed by the USFS, and they do a great job. It's 50% reserved campsites and 50% walk-up campsites. Also, several group sites. The on-site hosts are wonderful, attentive and knowledgeable. The campground lies next to the beautiful North Fork of the Flathead River. It has launching for day use rafting and fishing. Absolutely stunning area, with a fairly clear view into Glacier National Park depending on where you look. Be very careful of bears, though; you must keep in mind that you are in the middle of bear country. Also, don't drive too fast in the campground. The dry climate makes it so that driving too quickly causes thick clouds of dust. The camp host, who is very nice and super helpful, recommended th...
