About CUMMINGS CABIN

Federal campground in Idaho.

Nestled in the heart of Idaho's pristine national forest landscape, Cummings Cabin offers RV travelers an authentic escape into nature's quiet embrace. This national forest campground provides the perfect base for exploring some of the most spectacular scenery the Pacific Northwest has to offer, where towering evergreens frame mountain vistas and the sound of rushing water becomes your natural soundtrack.

The setting at Cummings Cabin transports you to a world where modern pressures fade away. Whether you're arriving after a long drive or settling in for an extended stay, the forest environment creates an immediately calming atmosphere. The natural surroundings provide a sense of solitude that many RV travelers seek when they decide to venture away from developed campgrounds. Early mornings bring mist rising through the trees, while evenings showcase some of the clearest starlit skies you'll experience.

For those interested in outdoor recreation, the surrounding national forest lands offer countless opportunities. Hiking trails of varying difficulty levels wind through the forest, leading to alpine meadows, crystal-clear lakes, and scenic overlooks. Fishing enthusiasts will find excellent opportunities in nearby streams and lakes, where cold, clear waters are home to native trout. Mountain biking, wildlife observation, and photography are also popular activities that draw visitors to this region throughout the year.

The location provides genuine value for travelers exploring central or northern Idaho. You're positioned to explore the natural wonders that make Idaho a destination for outdoor enthusiasts. Local communities nearby offer essential services, allowing you to get supplies without straying too far from your peaceful forest retreat. The area appeals to families seeking outdoor education, couples looking for a romantic getaway surrounded by nature, retired travelers who appreciate tranquility, and serious outdoor adventurers planning backcountry explorations.

Cummings Cabin represents an opportunity to experience authentic national forest camping, where the focus remains on nature, relaxation, and genuine outdoor connection rather than commercial amenities.

Clean and quiet, and the management will work with you like people should. I've been here for a little past a month, and thus far I haven't had a single negative, you can be social or keep to yourself here, everything is incredibly respectful. Pete's gone out of his way to show us a fun time and socializes great with our kids. Very family friendly location with great scenery and activities in the area. Absolutely 10/10 thus far

We started off by setting the mood with a horse drawn sleigh ride around the park and pond which showcases the festive lights and decorations. There was a nice warm fire at the pick-up/drop off location to help relieve the cold. After that we headed over for dinner and the show. The kids were excited about the hot chocolate we were able to get at the drink stand out front, and I was pleasantly surprised that they even offer adult beverages to enjoy. Dinner was incredible! We all (even the kids) thoroughly enjoyed our meals and loved the touch of ice cream brought out at the end of the meal. The show was very entertaining, the band was witty, cunning, and extremely talented. I love the real life chemistry they showed on stage. This was such a great holiday experience!

We did he Christmas dinner show. It was fun. We did the little carriage ride around the village and saw the lights, and then went to the dinner show. The food was good, and the show was good. We all had fun. The youngest in our group had the most fun. She loved the music show. You would think it wouldn't be that much fun for kids. But they loved it.

Went for the dinner and show. Amazing!! Perfectly curated night. Horse drawn carriage ride through the lights was beautiful and quiet. Staff know how to expertly serve 160 people in less than 30 mintues. The food was wonderful, the garlic bread was so soft. Perfectly cooked beef and chicken. Just the perfect amount of dessert. The sing alongs were so fun! Great night...thank you.

My work did the dinner and show for our Christmas Party. My husband and I hadn't been there since 2014. The new owners have reconfigured the layout inside. There wasn't a bad seat in the place. The food was great and the entertainment was perfect. The show wasn't too long or short. The jokes were funny and the music was perfect for the setting.
