Beautiful, quiet location. Large campsites and trees allow for privacy. Nice shade and plenty of level spots for tents. Pad to accessible outhouse was a bit of a jump in my manual wheelchair. Pad to accessible outhouse was a bit of a jump in my manual wheelchair. A power chair might have trouble making it. There were a lot of ATVs out on the road, but most were not too loud. Birds are everywhere. We were suprised we didn't see more wildlife. It is surrounded by private land, limiting exploration beyond the roads. That didn't impact me, but might others. There was not a good way down to the River except through someone's camp in a dispersed camp area. We mostly had the place to ourselves, which was exactly what we wanted. For people looking to explore on foot, it might be dull due to the surrounding pritave land. If you're after doing nothing but rest, read, visit play cards and watch the variety of birds, it's perfect.

I like the cleanliness and quietness. There is a bathroom and an old fashioned water pumper out of a well. The Middle Fork of the Weiser River is a walk away. The fishing is awesome for Brook Trout and nice size Rainbow Trout. All around it is a place I visit every year.

Our Shaw Family Reunion has been there the last full week weekend in July for at least 63+ years. It is one of my favorite places even though things are changing. No more White Licks, Huckleberry berry patches off limits (thank you Texas brothers) posted no trespassing. It is still a great place to camp.

We stayed two nights in site #3 and loved it! All the sites around us had plenty of flat spots for tents, tons of shade, tree's to hang a hammock, drinking water, clean vaulted toilets, and a hiking trail at the back of the campground. We met the camp host as soon as we pulled in to our site and he was very kind and helpful. If you need help planning your Yellowstone adventures he is full of great information. I read some some reviews from a couple years ago and I don't know if the road was fixed but it was paved all the way, and don't forget to enjoy the spectacular view's on the drive in. One thing to keep in mind when planning your visit, there was a lot of undergrowth and bugs in the campground. Bring your bug repellent and you'll be just fine. Beautiful campground and wonderful people, we hope to stay here again.

Went to check out the area for horse camping. No water in the south campground. Only 2 corals. Had a few non horse campers there. Makes it hard to camp with horses.
