This is an amazing place to escape the city. Our visit today was just a few hours but we intend to return for a longer visit. Please be advised that you need a DURABLE vehicle with all wheel drive and HIGH GROUND CLEARANCE to make it up here. The roads are decent but VERY rocky, sometimes steep, with VERY sharp drop offs. This trip is not for the faint of heart but 100% WORTH IT!!!

Ahhhhhhmazing! Totally Epic! Soooo quiet except for the wind. Either it’s howling inside or crashing like waves over the mountains when you’re outside. Super cool gate you lower over the stairs for added security. The lookout is clean and well cared for by all who visit. 💗 The sunset… the stars… the sunrise… 🙌🏼🙌🏼🙌🏼

Second time staying here! We were a little disappointed that some of the windows had broken and there was plywood covering on side of the windows but we had a wonderful time. Beautiful view, a great wood stove that kept us nice and warm, and some wildlife we watched from the lookout! We hope to go back maybe next summer!

So lucky to get a reservation for this lookout. It’s a rough last two miles, but worth it! Well equipped, nice beds and so quiet. Sunrise and sunset were amazing
