Campgrounds, picnic areas and fishing access recreation areas are available on this district.Please be "Bear Aware" and check out our Bear Country Safety information before you recreate on the Madison Ranger District. Ennis is popular during peak season. Reserve 2-4 weeks in advance for weekends and holidays.
Most parks have check-in after 1:00 PM and check-out by 11:00 AM. Call ahead if you'll arrive late.

Good trail along the river. Good for novices. A true beginner might a few challenges, depending on natural skills. Usually some wildlife around. Super easy access. Recommend

Nice clean r.v park also every quite. Was a plus that it was close to west Yellowstone. Pet friendly and smoke free.
