Extremely nice cabin! Everything was very clean and in great condition! The bunk beds were comfortable and the cabin very comfortably slept 4 people! Plenty of clean cooking utensils, spacious parking, and great fire pit area with plenty of firewood! Only gripe is that the bathroom is a little smelly! Beautiful view! I will definitely be back again to do hikes in the area! Highly recommend this... Extremely nice cabin! Everything was very clean and in great condition! This 100 year old cabin is so cool! Beautiful scenery, great fire pit and wood stove. The beds were even comfortable. Odds and ends of kitchen equipment and a fantastic logbook from former campers. Cowboy Dave and his horses are amazing. We spent plenty of time picking grass to feed our new friends. The stars at night were fantastic. It was 1000% worth the drive and I would love to go again. We were at Wall Creek Cabin just a few days ago (mid July 2022). All other FS cabins I've been to (about 20) have that same concrete vault outhouse. Not this one. You get an old fashioned handmade outhouse. Even the seat and lid were homemade. It wasn't horrific inside but it was getting uh....full. And my gf found a garter snake in it. Nearest outhouse alternative is 6 miles of bumpy dirt road aw... We were at Wall Creek Cabin just a few days ago (mid July 2022). You also get a clear view of HWY287 from the cabin, BUT it is 3 miles away and you can't hear anything and lights don't shine on u either. It's just weird that you are otherwise really remote. You won't be alone. There's another cabin 200' away. Occupied by a legit cowboy (hat, 6 shooter, boots, etc). He's a nice guy though. I assume he's under contract with the FS to perform various duties in the area. You better like horses cuz four mostly just roam free in the 10 acre or so enclosure that the 2 cabins are in. They are curious and pretty friendly. Just use common sense around them. The cabin was fine. No issues at all and it was in good shape. The road in was bumpy but fine with the Subaru. Really any passenger car could make it. Beautiful weird country. Deer. Antelope and a coyote. Close to the Madison River. I give it only 4 stars because the outhouse situation almost ruined it for my gf. And if you want to fish, you have to travel 6 miles of road to the river. Otherwise it's a 5 star experience. One of the most unique cabin experiences I've had. The view was worth $1000 a night and interacting with the horses was really fun.

The wall creek cabin is full of character! The highlights: The views of the mountains and wild flowers are unbelievable. It is truly a stunning area. You have some horses and next door neighbors, which adds to the charm (they have free range and can come up to your camp area). The cabin itself is exactly what one would think for a forest service cabin that has been around since the 1930's (?). Wit... The wall creek cabin is full of character! The cabin itself is exactly what one would think for a forest service cabin that has been around since the 1930's (?). With the $30 a night rate, you can't find anything cheaper in the area. Lowlights: Location. While the views are beautiful, it is quite the hall up to the cabin. Expect driving on a dirt road for 10 miles (Taking about 20-25 mins from the main road). The outhouse could be moved to a new area...it's time (oofta). The FLIES! We were there early July and the flies from the hours of 9:00am-7:30pm were out of control. We drenched ourselves in Deet, but still couldn't stand to be outside for more than a minute. We also had some trouble sleeping. The pidder-padder of the field mice in the cabin and the frantic noises of the horses at 1:00am, left us feeling a bit uncertain. We ended up only spending 2 of our 4 nights we had booked (the flies were the main reason). The cabin is great, as long as you know what you are getting into! I would recommend it for a short stay or if you are doing activities in the near area, but the remoteness of the cabin was a bit much for us! Also, there is a ranger (?) who came up our second day/night as there is another cabin on the property. We didn't interact with him too much, but he seemed like a nice guy!

Wow! Beautiful remote cabin in pristine, beautiful location away from it all! Remote, but still found it using GPS. Great hiking, but bring your bear spray just in case. No frills, quiet and dry spot for the night or longer!
