About City of Sandpoint RV Park

Campground in Idaho.

Nestled in the charming lakeside town of Sandpoint, Idaho, the City of Sandpoint RV Park offers a welcoming base for exploring one of the Pacific Northwest's most picturesque destinations. Located at 54 Bridge Street, this municipal RV park puts you right in the heart of a vibrant community known for its natural beauty, arts culture, and outdoor recreation opportunities.

Sandpoint sits on the shores of Lake Pend Oreille, a stunning 43-mile-long alpine lake surrounded by the Selkirk Mountains. The setting alone makes this an exceptional destination for RV travelers seeking mountain scenery and water-based activities. From your RV, you're positioned perfectly to explore the downtown area, which features locally-owned restaurants, galleries, shops, and a thriving farmers market culture. The town has earned a reputation as an arts hub, with numerous galleries and seasonal festivals throughout the year that celebrate local creativity and mountain heritage.

The lake itself is a major draw for visitors. Swimming, boating, fishing, and water sports are popular summer activities, while winter brings opportunities for snowshoeing and scenic winter walks. Trail enthusiasts will find excellent hiking options in the surrounding mountains and forests, with trails ranging from easy lakeside walks to more challenging mountain climbs. The area's four-season appeal means visitors can experience the dramatic fall colors, snowy winters, spring blooms, and sunny summers that characterize the Idaho panhandle.

Sandpoint's location also makes it a convenient jumping-off point for exploring further into northern Idaho and the greater Pacific Northwest region. The town itself maintains a relaxed, welcoming atmosphere despite its growing popularity, with residents who take pride in their community and its outdoor heritage.

Whether you're looking for a peaceful lakeside retreat, a base camp for mountain adventures, or a cultural destination with excellent local food and art scenes, the City of Sandpoint RV Park offers access to all that this special mountain town has to offer.

This is the absolute worst rv park ever. First off it is not a “Park” but rather a gravel parking lot. The train is literally right next to you and don’t even think about sleeping between the train and your trailer shaking it is impossible! . It runs all night long. If I could do 0 stars I would!!!! And don’t be fooled by the pics on their site. You have to walk to get those views.

Terrible. A minimum of 2-4 trains hourly all through the day and night. It's an overpriced parking lot. Garbage and used condoms strewn about. Just gross. I have boondocked in rest areas that were much nicer than this place. Keep looking there are plenty of RV parks. This one is the worst I've ever been.

Reasonably priced and located near the city beach. Not particularly well kept but for an overnight or two it's great. I think it was $50 a night plus fees. I paid $136 for 2 days.

Stayed here for a quick overnight on the way up to Canada. Pros: quick walk into town which is lovely, great beach steps away Cons: traffic noise from highway; currently large groups of car enthusiasts with blatting exhausts racing in beach car park to rear of campsite; very noisy and frequent trains; no bathroom, shower or internet; exceptionally expensive for basically few to no services (ther... For us the location was a winner but having got back to the van after dinner and trying to sleep am regretting it. Not even the nice meal at Eichard’s Pub is going to be worth the hump of no sleep and no shower in the morning and $65 for the privilege
