It is a beautiful out of the way state park with no entrance fee. It takes going on back roads and gravel roads to get there. The views are outstanding and lots of wild flowers to appreciate. We did not see any wildlife while we were there but there are supposed to be moose, deer, and other animals that are native to the area. If you want to see some beautiful scenery, it is well worth the time.

I took a day drive from Spokane and stopped by this park on the way home. My car navigation lost the roads but the little arrow still moved in empty space. My phone did a little better. The park is open to recreational vehicles, you know, dirt bikes or those atv/rtv things the boys like to drive. You need to check before you go to find which roads you can drive on. I just drove my car around the mountain and checked out some camping sites. Looks good. The, I came to a viewpoint overlooking King's Valley. How beautiful. I hope to be able to go camping here for a weekend before winter hits.

Still beautiful even in a dry year. What a great Park. Amazing that it was donated for public use. We camped at Iron Mountain Campground and had it to ourselves (except for flying insects) on a weeknight. Beautiful views. We’ll be back!

McCroskey is such a cool and reasonably unknown spot. Being "off the beaten track" should hopefully keep it that way. It is a great drive up and over the Washington/Idaho border with hiking, camping, mountain biking, and ATV options. Look into the history and find an amazing story of dedication and perseverance.
