My friend even needed a horse because hers was sore and they rented her a wonderful mare to ride. (Jolene). The pens were perfect. Large and safe where a nice breeze could flow through. The people in the permanent sites were friendly and helpful as well. Trails from the campground are beautiful and we were trailered out and lead on an incredible trail ride. Kim was a great guide. The reason for only 4 stars is because our sites were on the hill as you enter the campground. There was not a good area to saddle the horses near your trailer without being at a slant. The sites themselves are pretty level, but narrow with steep gravel drops between each site. The fall risk is huge! I camped with 3 other trailers and walking up and down to my horses and other trailers really increased my endurance. 😃Also, if you are camping on the hill, I wish they would have told us to park our rigs before registering as there is not an easy way to circle around with your rigs to get back to the sites. 4 wheel drive is essential in order to park without slipping while parking. Another important thing I wish they would have told us is that the hookups are pretty far away from the trailers. Be sure to bring super long water hoses and electric cords. Between my electric cord and my extension I barely made it to my plug in. I have a 50 ft water hose and it wasn’t long enough. I had to use my regular water hose in addition. Sewer hookups are closer but are at an angle up hill. With campers they’d work well, horse trailers not so much. Needed to help to move the sewer through the hose. I don’t know if there is a way to widen the hill sites, but maybe build safety steps between trailers to help to prevent falls?? Possibly build saddling stations at the hill sites so horses can stand level while being saddled or supply a place to keep tack in during your stay with an area to tack up so horses can be saddled easier. However, we all made it work and had a wonderful time during our week stay. The campground even had a small tack store and essential items to buy at a reasonable price. It was a great time!

This is my first time here. There are not many areas for tent camping. The bath house is still under construction. However with this being said I've enjoyed my week here tent camping. I do want to say congratulations to the bear branch family, they had a baby foul born while I was here. She's beautiful. If you're not one wanting to be on your phone while you're here great, the service is sketchy (at&t at least). I've enjoyed disconnecting from the modern day technology.

The campgrounds were mostly RVs, but we didn't have any issues finding a spot to set up our tent. There are plenty of green areas to camp, including firepits and picnic tables. Everyone there was really friendly and helpful, I definitely recommend this place. Now, these are some things that I consider good to highlight from my experience camping there: ◇The store mostly has horse supplies, but they also have snacks/food, firewood, and some camping supplies. ◇ There is an ATM in the store ◇ As of May 2025, bathrooms are in construction but fully functional. Showers with good water pressure, both hot and cold. Really clean, too! Spacious, with several power outlets. ◇Heads up, phone service is weak. ◇Firepits available. ◇Peaceful environment, very family friendly. ◇Tip: If you are looking for privacy, I recommend camping by the lake.
