Very cool spot. About a mile hike down to a campsite . Not busy at all. You will look like your going through someone's land trying to get to the parking lot . Don't worry your going the right way.

Quiet, secluded. Nice place to walk in the valley. Enjoy the streams and rock formations. Loved the butterflies (mid-June) and the sound of wild birds. The road coming in has some serious ruts and drainage issues. I hit bottom in my Civic, so unless you have a vehicle with high clearance, park on the main road and walk in.

Easy 5 star view, but easy 1 star road to get there. USE CAUTION bringing a regular car. My Hyundai Sonata got through fine but was nerve wracking driving on it with the weeds smacking the underside of the car, very loose gravel path, and bouncing all over the place.

Road in was too rough for a standard car in Oct 2021-been much better in the past. Nice isolated pla e and trail down to the river. There is a great bluff lookout 1/2 the way to the river

Great secluded location and the best view in Iowa hands down. If you don't mind a decent hike and appreciate quiet camping this should be your next destination. Good trails, fire pit picnic tables, plenty of room for hammocks or tents. Bathrooms are not for the faint of heart but are very great to have.
