I assume from the pictures that the falls are very beautiful. But after hiking a good distance we could only look down from the top which was just a small stream going over a rock. The area is beautiful and there is a pit toilet in parking lot. Lots of nice campsites. Should have 4 wheel drive or high clearance for getting to site as roads are really rough. We have an F250 and we still had to go s... I assume from the pictures that the falls are very beautiful. This is one of my favorite places in the Shawnee National Forest, and I deem it my mission to make it back up from Georgia to camp in this area, again. I LOVE Jackson Falls. Then again, I love this National Forest, as well.

I pretty much only camp here and only lightly hike but I love this place. It's quiet and secluded although I tend to go in the off season. I bring my dog and we have a very nice time. No signal unless you go up the road though.

Always a beautiful area and trails are marked well, however, when the leaves come back the area gets thick and you might have issues finding where trails end and begin so be vigilant. You can't go wrong after rain as there are as many as 4 and sometimes 5 waterfalls. Summer can be heavy with ticks, so protect yourself. The area is also a "wet" area which means mosquitos, so again protect yourself.... I don't believe there is a water faucet so bring a filter to resupply.
