In my opinion, this is the best park in the Chicagoland area, yes it has some growing pains, but it’s very clear that the new ownership is improving the park. Some of my favorite things about Fox Bluff are: -Pool/Hot tub!!! -Weekly events!!! -Camaraderie, community!!! -Trees and shade!!! The pool is great, it’s one of the cleanest outdoor pools I have ever seen, I’m a neat and clean freak, and never have any issues with this pool. Shout out, great job to the staff keeping it clean. Also little things don’t go un noticed, like all the hanging petunia baskets that stayed alive year round and took tireless efforts from the staff to keep watered and alive this year. Weekly events are great here, family fun activities, always good for the kids, crafts, music, food….. golf cart parades, and even a train for the kiddos to enjoy! The camaraderie is the best part at this park. There are so many good people, and it’s hard to walk or even drive around the park without having to stop and give the old Midwest “hey how are you” conversation with everyone. We absolutely love the friendships we have made here at the park, fun and helpful. Many of the people at this resort are people we would spend time with outside of the park. 100% you should consider Fox Bluff

Fox Bluff RV park was our first RV park on our trip and we were pleasantly surprised. Nice, clean and very well kept. They provided adequate space that felt very private. It was gated which added to our feeling of security. The staff was very nice and accommodating. We will use this park again.

Beautiful Forest Bluff on the Fox River- but… So, where to begin? Beautiful Forest Bluff on the Fox River- but… So, where to begin? This hidden gem of a forest is located on the Fox River with excellent proximity to nature while being close enough to everything else you might need. (groceries, shopping, etc). There is more than a mile of dirt trails and gravel walking paths shaded by lovely mature (huge) trees and the amenities are kept quite nice. There is a big pool, pickleball, basketball, gaga ball and a laundry room with 3 washers and dryers(hint: don’t walk all the way to it and forget the code). Also, a covered “fun center” and an indoor temperature controlled social center building. Several cottages are dotted along the amenity area as well. We did not see the inside but they looked freshly painted, neat and clean on the outside. Here comes the review you are likely looking for. The park is probably 70% permanent RV sites. They are amazingly plotted out and decorated with decks, outdoor bars and just plain fun ideas. These permanent sites appear to be mostly weekenders coming from their urban abodes to relax. 25% of the sites are listed as “transient.” The rigs all looked fairly permanent to me. Maybe transient means less permanent??! Lets just say these sites were not terrible but most were not amazing and this is where we made our home for 4 days. The remaining 5% of the sites (cue banjo music here) were occupied RV structures. They literally appeared to be a hoarders heaven and I think they have been there since Yorkville was settled in 1833. Our full hookup 50amp “transient” site was long enough for our 38ft trailer, it was a fairly level grass and gravel spot. We unhooked our Ford F250 truck and parked it sideways in front of the RV. There was plenty of room for slide outs and hoses all connected easily. All in all I would recommend this dog, kid and old people( like us) friendly RV park! If we ever find ourselves back in the area we would stay again. However, the 3 stars are because in my opinion, the park likely has plans to lease only longer term RV’ers. We felt really out of place just camping for a couple of days. I do imagine it’s a fantastic weekend getaway for the folks who have set up beautiful permanent sites along the river. Happy camping everyone!

Fantastic quiet, but fun RV campground. The pool and hot tub are great! We had the nicest little stream right behind our spot. There are lots of places to choose from on Fox River and a couple ponds. They have a lot of seasonal campers and those folks hosted a pig roast for the entire campground for Labor Day. The community feeling here is great. We will be back every year!

Neither are in great shape. Our site was fully covered in last years fall leaves and many branches from the trees. There are a lot of trees, which is nice. The utilities worked but the placement on the sites is odd. Water far from sewer and sewer far from electricity. When a neighbor came to the site next to us, they had to use a water y connector and connect to our sites water or they would have no water. That killed our water pressure for our last 2 days of our stay. There are a significant number of “seasonal” renters and it’s obvious that there are no standards enforced. The cabin was clean, well appointed and decorated. The furnishings were all nice and very comfortable. Basic kitchen needs were provided - plates, utensils, toaster etc. It was equipped with a fire pit and 4 Muskoka chairs outside - very nice. Water pressure was an issue and when we first arrived, the water smelled like Sulfer. It was rectified by draining the water heater several times. While the cabin was nice, it was high in price ($250) considering that you have to provide all your own linens and toiletries. Did not use any amenities but there is a game room that looks nice, a pool that looks nice but was closed for the season, and a nice kids playground. Did not see the laundry room. I think they are working on upgrading the place and with more work, it could be a great campground. All of the staff we encountered were very nice.
