Camp Loud Thunder is a great camp for scouts or any group looking for a place to spend some quality time outdoors. My troop did some winter camping, so we didnt use all the facilities. We stayed in Thunder cabin, and the wood stove kept us plenty warm despite very cold nights. My only gripe is the steep hill entrance. It was a sheet of ice and two of our four vehicles couldn't make it up. Tha... Camp Loud Thunder is a great camp for scouts or any group looking for a place to spend some quality time outdoors. My only gripe is the steep hill entrance. It was a sheet of ice and two of our four vehicles couldn't make it up. Thanks to the Ranger though, we still had a great time! He was very helpful considering the tough, ice covered camp grounds.

Great Scout Camp! Programs are fun and inviting for all! Nice setting for camp and the food was better than I remembered from my youth experiences. If you are in central IL/IA it's worth the week with your scouts!

Spent many nights here as a young scout. Came back for my son's fist camp out as a Lion Cub! Had a great time. It's as great a park as ever. Asset to the scouts and public. Great place.
