West Lebanon is popular during peak season. Reserve 2-4 weeks in advance for weekends and holidays.
Most parks have check-in after 1:00 PM and check-out by 11:00 AM. Call ahead if you'll arrive late.
Illinois weather can change quickly. Pack layers and check the forecast for West Lebanon.

This is a fantastic campground. The camping spots are very cozy, but there are lots of amenities and no lack of things to do and/or see. What an amazing area in Indiana. It was a little close to the main highway so you could hear road noise even at the back of the campground. Do not let that discourage you. It was an awesome camping experience. It was an awesome camping experience. They do however have an abundance of racoons and they are very active. Our first night there we were greeted by them and a skunk having an all out mma fight right next to our tent. If you have never heard a skunk scream at you oh you need to. Sounds like the minions of hell are seeping through the ground. It woke us up around 1 in the morning and scared the wife and I half to death thinking one of our children were hurt. Other than that it was great. Just need to get the raccoon population under control.

Was there to camp and enjoy nature. Instead got the experience of awe and it brought out the child in me. Trails are challenging and yet just beautiful. So, much to see and experience. Camp sites have power, but no water. You have to carry your own in your rig or fill gallon jugs, but the water is good. The shower house is a hard mist with small stalls, but still very much doable. 2 spots to dump... Was there to camp and enjoy nature. There are horse rides available of which I didn't get to par take in, but there's always next time. If you enjoy canoes there not far from the at all from the park. I'll definitely be returning.

Turkey Run is a fabulous state park with a nice campground. My only complaint about the campground is that many sites are in an open, level area without a lot of trees or bushes between them. You don’t have a lot of privacy. Two sections of the campground, with the higher numbered sites, are much more wooded. If I go again, I will try to be there! Two sections of the campground, with the higher numbered sites, are much more wooded. If I go again, I will try to be there! But the campground has two large modern bathrooms that are cleaned regularly. It also has clean well maintained vault toilets throughout the campground. Best of all, from the back of the campground you can access Trail 7, a moderate level trail that leads unexpectedly to a small stream running past a recessed cave. It’s a peaceful spot. Be advised that a “moderate” hike at Turkey Run can be challenging, with plenty of steps up and down the hillsides. Many of the trails go along stream beds, so you often need to make your way across the rocks to avoid wet feet. Be prepared with hiking boots and sticks. There are two covered bridges on the edges of the park. Be sure to check them out!

BEWARE!! Though the campground and park were very nice, with amazing hiking trails, the raccoons were terrible. They crawled into my truck engine and pooped all over and chewed some foam insulation pieces up, I'm lucky they didn't chew through any electrical wires or any other things worse (from what I can see so far) and I found my tailgate open and couldn't for the life of me figure out how it g... Absolutely crazy that happened lol. I laugh about it now but didn't know what else to do if going back, just beware, we were one of the few campers there in late February. This was only a 2 night stay.

I selected a pull through site out of convenience at the campground. The sites are numbered on the electrical boxes as well as on the parent- though the pavement is very faded and hard to see. I relied on the paper map & the electric box to find it. I arrived on a weekend and it was very packed with people. During Sunday people started leaving and it was a quieter experience. I arrived on a weekend and it was very packed with people. During Sunday people started leaving and it was a quieter experience. The washrooms and showers were located near by and were very clean. The showers were a bit older with some mould but I had shower sandals and really didn’t care. Good water temp and pressure. There are dump sites and water sites available. At check in staff was very friendly. You pay an extra park fee to stay here on top of the camp fee but it allows you access to the park itself. Trail access is off the camp loop I stayed at which was nice. Though it does add a few miles/kms to the suspension bridge and the hikes thereafter. Also of note- the hikes are certainly not a walk in the park and more moderate to challenging in nature. Wear supportive footwear that’s as non slip as possible. Paved sites at the campground that are fairly level. It would be a decent place during the week unless crowds are your thing. Photos don’t do it justice and while there’s many sites in the wide open sun, the ones tucked into the trees are gorgeous and shaded. Would recommend and would return.
