What a cool place, my wife and I are excited to return here with a larger group of people! The mill is one of the coolest free to visit places I have seen. If you choose to do so, you can bring trumps and take a dip in the creek as well. Bring a camera, as the environment is extremely photogenic.

What a great gem of a state park near the Quad Cities! The trail was well marked and relatively easy to complete even on a cold, snowy day. The punchbowl area was very cool. There are no modern restrooms available during the colder months so plan ahead!

The trails were well maintained with lots of spots to sit and rest. There was so much to look at, the rock formative were beautiful- reminded me of Ledges and Dolliver. Hope to come back again to check out Cave Trail, which was closed at the time of our visit. The park was very busy, but we came on a weekend. If you are looking for solitude, maybe try a weekday. Despite the crowds on the trail and at the park/picnic benches there wasn't any trash or litter, and the historical sites/grist mill were interesting to see and tour. Getting to go inside the mill was a bonus, I hadn't realized it was open. This was a great place to catch some beautiful Iowa landscape, and be reminded that Iowa isn't so flat after all.

Wildcat Den State Park is amazing with great hiking trails a grist mill. The punch bowl section of the trail was really cool with awesome rock formations. The 5+ miles of trails were well-maintained and in great condition. The trails had a lot of ups and downs which provided a good challenge.

I love a good park but this park also has great history. An old mill, old school house and outside the park and old historic church. It is a short trip off the scenic River drive.
