Batesville is popular during peak season. Reserve 2-4 weeks in advance for weekends and holidays.
Most parks have check-in after 1:00 PM and check-out by 11:00 AM. Call ahead if you'll arrive late.
Indiana weather can change quickly. Pack layers and check the forecast for Batesville.
Don't miss local attractions near Batesville. Ask the camp host for hidden gems and trails.

My mother and father started camping here when they were kids. It is a great reset just outside Cincinnati. I can't say enough great things about the staff and the cleanliness of the campground. Plus on a clear night you can't pass up the view.

One of the cleanest campgrounds I've been to. Now withh that being said it definitely could use water at sites and some full hookups. The bathroom and shower houses definitely could use an upgrade. But overall is a great state park with fishing , boating, hiking and a huge pool with slides .they just need water hookups so you can stay longer then 3 to 4 days .

I visited to do the Mammoth March. It was a wonderful shaded hike. We crossed the creek several times & was only in the shade for 5-10 min the whole 8+hrs. There were SEVERAL muddy places but with 1200 participating I'm sure that's why.

Camped here at site #112 for just one night on our way back home. Seems like a nice park. Very clean and well kept, though dated. We would definitely stop here again on another camping road trip.

Such a quiet and peaceful park! Camping was so much fun. My parents and dogs had a great time.

Beautiful property with alot of things to do! There are alot of rules but we are ok with them because we were looking for a place like this to relax. We've only spent a couple nights there so far but I can tell you the peaceful, serene environment made us both oversleep both mornings. Yay, we woke up relaxed and couldn't believe how quiet it was with the exception of a couple golf carts driving by. If you're looking for a nice place to camp send them a message and tour the campground. I enjoyed the tour w my mother who has camped for years just down the road and The Retreat at Hickory Hills got her approval. There was the aroma of Flatbread pizza when we checked in on Friday for our tour along with other quick menu options. They also serve cold drinks and sell other camping necessities. I had to come back to see everything we missed and pick a site with my husband. Also, there are Tiny homes and a few Cabin rentals that I have already suggested to friends. Make sure you put the address 9507 US231 in your google maps because if you use the map on their website it will take you to the old entrance which is locked and on an old county road.

The good: pretty setting, nice pool, newer bathrooms, most of the staff is super friendly. The not good: Water smell is unbearable and the person who manages your check-ins (must also be the person that responds to all negative reviews) is super unpleasant. If you are not one of the long term renters, you are an inconvenience. There are insanely strict rules - just beware and make sure to read th... Everything was great other than the trick or treat wagon left 10 minutes early , so our kids couldnt ride . We then took them around in the back of the truck , and they told us we can’t do that either. But you can ride on the back of a golf cart? Disappointed that they left early for an event for the kids. Do better for your guests.

PLEASE do not rely on google for directions. The entrance is off rt 231. Google will take you down county single lane roads to their back entrance which is locked. No way to back up or turn around. No one mans their phone. Emailed and they said. We should come in the correct entrance but no way to turn around and do that. They plan to charge us a$25 fee for finding someone to let us in. I hope to... PLEASE do not rely on google for directions. The entrance is off rt 231. Google will take you down county single lane roads to their back entrance which is locked. If this was a problem, EVERY communication should highlight directions to the place and it should be on the front of their web page. Not so. Really disappointing. We did get a work camper who was so very kind to help us get through the gate and guided us to our site. Once we were there I will say that our stay was mostly very pleasant. There were only about 10% full in our section. There is no real lighting after dark so I would not recommend coming in after dark. The electric and water was fairly recently installed and worked well. WiFi is open but often not reachable. There didn’t seem to be repeaters installed but that may be because the sites are still under development. Every time we came and left the GPS tried to direct us the wrong way, but once we learned our lesson we were not about to repeat the mistake. The campground was the closest spot for visiting some local friends so it was convenient. We are visiting in mid Sept so many of the amenities are closed (pool etc) but that was fine with us. There is no way to reach out to management by phone except to leave a message. All communication we had was via email. The office doesn’t have hours open during weekdays when we were there.

This our 3rd year coming here . . . And each year it has gotten worse. They are worse than an HOA, we rented a golf cart and then they said we were driving too fast, it is your golf cart why isn't it governed? Last year they accused us of "racing" a golf cart again we were just driving down the road it does not have a speedometer, and you should have it governed. For the price I would rather go to...
